Weather:
- Namibia's climate is primarily hot and dry, a subtropical desert climate in most of the country, with warm days and cool nights.
- Wet Season (November to April): Temperatures: Warm to hot days with cooler nights. Rainfall: Occasional showers and thunderstorms, especially in the central and eastern regions. Humidity: Higher than during the dry season.
- Dry Season (May to October): Temperatures: Warm days with cool to cold nights. Temperatures can drop below freezing in desert areas, especially at night. Rainfall: Minimal to no rainfall. Humidity: Low.
Common Diseases:
- Communicable Diseases: HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), Malaria: is less prevalent in Namibia compared to other African countries, it Diarrheal diseases: These are common, especially among children, due to poor sanitation and access to clean water. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): STIs, including syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, are prevalent in Namibia and Measles.
- Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs): Cardiovascular diseases: Heart disease and stroke. Chronic respiratory diseases: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma are becoming more common. Diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is on the rise in Namibia, linked to lifestyle factors such as obesity and unhealthy diets. Mental health disorders: Depression and anxiety are common mental health issues in Namibia.
Food:
- Namibia's cuisine is a fusion of influences from its indigenous people, European settlers, and neighboring countries.
- Common dishes include meat-based meals like biltong, boerewors, and potjiekos, as well as seafood, pap, vetkoek, and indigenous foods like omajowa mushrooms and mopane worms.

- After applying here, Please apply on CMANA
- Once your application is reviewed and an approval decision is made, we ask that you follow up within 1 week either confirming your commitment to joining the mission and submitting your registration fee or letting us know if unable to join.
- If you are a Canadian citizen, your payment process will be different. Please be on the lookout for more information once approved for the trip.
- Please do not purchase tickets for a flight until you have received confirmation from the Missions email account that you have been accepted for the mission.
- Although we list a closing date to submit your application on the website, if we have reached capacity prior to it, we will close the application process early. We do often receive a large group of applicants so please be sure to apply as early as possible to ensure you make it through the first step. Due to limited space, priority will be given to healthcare professionals, followed by healthcare students, followed by college students and servants. In the case of an excess number of student applicants, students can opt to be placed on a waiting list in case additional space opens up.
