About the country:
Weather:
- The southern part of the country is characterized as humid and equatorial with temperatures ranging from 20-25°C. (depending on altitude) .
- the wettest regions receiving more than 400 mm of rainfall per month.
- Northern Cameroon (north of 6°) is semi-arid and dry with temperatures ranging from 25-30°C.
Common Diseases:
- HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis represent about 23.7% of total morbidity and 25% of deaths.
- The prevalence of HIV is estimated at 4.3% with numerous differences between regions, age groups and sexes.

- Among Cameroonian specialties are:
- Fufu corn and njama njama (huckleberry leaves) Brochettes
- known locally as soya (a kind of barbecued kebab made from chicken, beef, or goat)
- Sangah (a mixture of maize, cassava leaf, and palm nut juice).

- Once your application is reviewed and an approval decision is made, we ask that you follow up within 1 week either confirming your commitment to joining the mission and submitting your registration fee or letting us know if unable to join.
- If you are a Canadian citizen, your payment process will be different. Please be on the lookout for more information once approved for the trip.
- Please do not purchase tickets for a flight until you have received confirmation from the Missions email account that you have been accepted for the mission.
- Although we list a closing date to submit your application on the website, if we have reached capacity prior to it, we will close the application process early. We do often receive a large group of applicants so please be sure to apply as early as possible to ensure you make it through the first step. Due to limited space, priority will be given to healthcare professionals, followed by healthcare students, followed by college students and servants. In the case of an excess number of student applicants, students can opt to be placed on a waiting list in case additional space opens up.
